As can be seen from the photgraphs on this page we launched our club raffle on Saturday last. The launch took place on board the Norman Voyager which is Celtic Link Ferries ship that operates between Rosslare and Cherbourg in France. Celtic Link is part -owned by Club Members John and Micheal O’Flaherty and are major sponsors along with Ferrybank Motors of our club. Celtic Link have very generously sponsored a trip to Cherbourg for a car and four persons. This is the first prize in our raffle. The second prize in our raffle is a mountain bike sponsored by The Bike Shop, Selsker, Wexford. Well done to Club Riders David Walsh and Luke Maguire who placed 5th and 8th respectively in their races in Stamullen last Sunday. David has  put together a string of very impressive placings since making his comeback to cycling last year after many years of inactivity. He is the current Senior County Champion and like all the other club racing cyclists,has put a huge effort into training and race preparation over the winter months. Luke is a first year Junior having just graduated from the U.16 ranks this year. He is a very strong rider and has his sights set on competing in the Junior Tour of Ireland this year.He did very well to avoid a big crash in the finish of his race on Sunday. The Wexford Wheelers team for the Gorey 3 - day, which takes place over the Easter Weekend has been announced. The team will comprise of Luke Maguire, John Gordan, David Walsh, Martin Gill, Albert Walsh and Conchubar O’ Crualaoich. Unfortunately because of work and family commitments  Patsy Mc Caffery, Simon Lambert and Eoin O’Shea are not available. All the racing cyclists have trained hard over the winter months and lets hope that their efforts will be rewarded with good results in the Gorey and all other races for the coming season. Most of the racing section are heading for Newbridge this Sunday to participate in the Newbridge Grand Prix. If club Members are available to give a hand out for the Gorey they are asked to contact Martin or Conchubar.

Club Members are reminded that the cycle to raise funds for the Wexford Ras Team takes place on Saturday the 13th of March starting in Gorey. Details are available on the Wexford Ras team website.
